How do I improve my WIFI connection speed?

  1. Try to find the best place for your router! WIFI signals can be blocked or slowed down by several objects and nearby interferences. Also try to minimize the distance between your router and your devices.
  2. Reboot your router! Turn off the switch at the back of your device, wait 15-20 seconds, then turn it back on. Wait a few more minutes so your router can properly restart. Please note the difference between rebooting and resetting: if you reset your router it will be returned to factory settings.
  3. Choose the right channel! To do this you have to access to the modem’s admin panel. Click here and follow the steps!
  4. Remember: the more devices you have connected, the slower the speed will be.

How do I change my WIFI name, password and channel?

  1. Choose your UPC modem below and follow the steps. Make sure your laptop or smartphone is connected to your modem’s Internet.

  • open a browser and in the address bar type: 192.168.0.1
  • now you will be presented with your modem login screen
  • enter admin as the username and password
  • click on the Wireless tab
  • now you are able to adjust the network name and wireless channel

  • open a browser and in the address bar type: 192.168.0.1
  • now you will be presented with your modem login screen
  • find the password on the bottom of your modem under ‘Settings password’
  • click on Advanced settings tab
  • under the Wireless signals tab choose option: Manual
  • now click on the Security tab to adjust the network name, its password and select channel width

What information does my invoice include?

  1. Like most service providers we bill your services in a month in advance. On your invoice you will see your monthly service charge which will stay the same based on the package you have chosen, usage charges, your unique identifier and additional information. The most convenient way to pay your services is direct debit. Get more information about paying methods here.

Why is my first bill more than I expected?

Depending on the installation and bill date your first bill might include extra days compared to the following bills. 

For example, if you were installed 5 days before bill date then 5 days and the next month will be charged on your first bill.

Please note you pay your services in advance.

How do I pay my bill?

  • Paying by card

payment line: call our dedicated payment service on +36 1 798 88 88 (Monday to Friday, 8am until 8pm). Make sure you have your credit card, your unique identifier to hand. You can find yours on your bill. To understand your bill click here.

- enter the amount you wish to pay (Fizetendő összeg). Find the total amount due on your bill.
- if you want to pay your general monthly debt choose the first option (Általános tartozás kiegyenlítése)
- if you want to enable mobile services after being restricted choose the second option (Mobil magasforgalmi korlát  feloldása)
- your e-mail address

  • Direct debit: paying by this method is the easiest way to pay for your UPC services. To move to Direct Debit please give us a call.
  • Internet banking: you can pay your bill using your internet bank service by using your individual account number. To find it on your bill, click here and find #10.
     

You can choose to receive your bill either by post or by e-mail. By signing on for electronic billing you get your bill quicker as we send you an e-mail notification summarising your latest charges as soon as they are available.

Please remember that failing to pay on time might result being your services restricted until you make a payment in full.

I haven’t paid my bill so my service has been stopped, what should I do?

In this case please make a payment by choosing one of these paying methods. It may take up to 72 hours for your services to be restored after we have received the payment.

Please note restoring your services has a one-time fee of 4 000 HUF.
For an extra 1 000 HUF your services will be restored in 24 hours.

Can I move my UPC services to my new home?

Please give us a call to find out if your new address is connected to our network, and we will let you know whether or not UPC services available there.

Please note moving has a one-time fee of 4 500 HUF.

Can I put my service on hold while I’m away?

Yes, your service can be paused!

  • You can suspend your service from 1 to 6 months annually.
  • If you select a date to restore your service it will be automatically reinstated.
  • While the service is suspended, the billing for services continues but your monthly service charge is reduced.
  • Please submit your request at least 5 days before you want to pause your service.
  • If restoring your service requires a technician appointment a one-time charge will be billed.

How do I cancel my UPC contract?

We are sorry to hear you are thinking of leaving us!

If you are moving you can take your services with you. For more info click here.

If you want to end your fixed term contract with us, before the minimum period has finished, you have to pay your discounts specified in your contract.

The broadband, TV and Phone kit we provide is included as part of our services, so if you disconnect your UPC services, we ask you to return your kit. Find the nearest store here. If you are not living in Budapest switch to the right panel.
